Seasons Change

Seasons Change
16x20 acrylic and mixed media on canvas

So many emotions ran through me as I painted this. Memories of the past, thoughts of the future. With the blowing leaves, and the daisy in her hair, I could think only of the seasons. How our minds and our hearts change. How things never stay the same, as much as we sometimes try to make them...

  1. Wow! She reminds me of how I want every Christmas to be as magical as they were when I was a kid, but there is always something missing, maybe my childish faith in magic :(
    beautiful nonetheless!

  2. Kinda gives me a sad feeling when I'm thinking about what you are saying. "How things never stay the same, as much as we sometimes try to make them". You are totally right!

I think the daisy is a great detail, that makes me wonder why she is wearing it. Do you know, or did you just paint it? :-)

You know, the top button you used. I found those a few months ago. I use them as eyes for crocheted animals :-)

    Love,
    Caelum.

  3. OMGosh, Maria - that's how I feel EVERY year at Christmas!!! It's just not the same anymore, is it? Although, I still do like to believe in magic :)

Caelum - she's thinking about a lost love. The daisy is from him :)

May I see your crocheted animals? I so want to learn to crochet. I know only some very basics. Wish you lived around the corner to teach me!
