Beginnings

Earthy and pure. That's what I think of when I look at this painting I just finished. Mother Nature smiles back at me and it makes me happy. This particular piece has been sitting, unfinished, in my studio for around three months now, screaming at me to come to life! So at 5:30 this morning, when my middle child woke up with croup (after years of not getting it anymore argh) I decided to embrace the ungodly hour and take advantage of the peace and quiet and start to paint. It was so lovely! And after around 7 hours of work, I finished it! She's 12 x 36 inches and FULL of mixed media goodness. The bird is made up of a page from an old children's book I found at an estate sale in Australia in October. This whole painting makes me smile. I hope it makes you smile, too...

  2. Thanks, Ma'am! Oh so much! You make me feel all warm and fuzzy with your thoughtful words!!

And thanks for the well wishes for my little guy. When he gets like this we call him our croupy poopy. That might be insult to injury, and he'll probably need therapy for it, but it lightens the mood haha!

  4. Amazingly beautiful!! I could look at her all day--just beautiful!!
P.S. My son went through this croup thing off and on all through his toddler years. I hated those times. Hope you're little guy is feeling better.
