Castle shelf

I found this old shelf at Goodwill today. It has legs that I took off for easier transportation, but I will put them back on. It's a very cool, old retro shelf with the legs on. I bought it for $10. And I got to thinking...I could just refinish it simply or I could have some fun with it. The wheels started turning and I thought...HEY! A castle shelf to match his room!! And then I thought about the design some more and decided that it could easily be done with some of the kids' wooden blocks. I used some wood glue and then nailed them on, filled the spaces with spackle, and am waiting for it to dry! Once it's dry, I'll paint it with a water-based primer that I tinted charcoal gray and then dry brush some lighter gray over top! Maybe paint a couple windows or something...and THEN I'll put the legs back on!

And then I found this sweet little handmade, wooden shelf for Sisi's room for $4.50!

And this REALLY cool little wooden duck (can you tell I like wooden things? SO WHOLESOME!) pull toy for only $.75!! I LOVE shopping at thrift stores! You never know what treasure you're going to find!
