The Offering

'The Offering' Mixed media & acrylic on 10x30" gallery-wrapped canvas
I just LOVED painting this piece. I was a little nervous at first because the dress, made up of illustrations from an old children's book (circa 1948) was stressing me out, but I kept at it, knowing that my paintings always satisfy me in the end.

Lots and lots of textured goodness. Ribbons, embroidery floss, rhinestones, tissue paper...

...and the wording 'Where there is great love, there are always miracles'.

Hi Deedra, she's gorgeous!! I'm always blown away by the fact you can create such emotion in your paintings without using features!!! This is great!

Huh...what a nice, and interesting thought, Nicola!! I thank you for that! Do you know, faces used to be my favourite part of a painting? But for some reason lately I've been avoiding them!

I love all the gorgeous textures and colors. Simply scrumptious. It makes you just want to reach out and touch it...lol if that makes sense. ^_^

Wow this is amazing , even the picture radiates the textures, you know? I feel like touching the computer screen to make sure its only a picture!
By the way, please email me or message me your email address or mailing address to send you your prize :D I was away all weekend so I didn't have a chance to message you earlier!
